What to Tell Your Patient

When preparing a patient for their first visit at Alliance Wellness Clinic, it helps to let them know:

• They should bring a photo ID and their insurance card if they have one
• Same-day dosing is possible if clinically appropriate, they should not delay coming in due to fear of withdrawal
• For buprenorphine, mild withdrawal before induction is typically required
• For methadone, they do not need to be in withdrawal before their first dose
• Counseling is part of the program and begins on or shortly after the first visit
